Isabella was born with a rare genetic disorder called Carbamoyl Phosphate Synthase-1, and needed a liver transplant at age 15 months. She traveled to the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh in October, 2010, where she received a portion of a donor liver. Though she started life as a very sick little girl, Bella is now a thriving 4-year-old who leads a healthy and normal life. As a result of the gift that her donor’s family made, Bella goes to pre-school, hikes mountains, swims, and plays with her two big sisters. We are all thankful for that gift every single day, and will continue to be for the rest of Bella’s life.
